ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Being an athlete, you have to be dedicated and passionate enough to surpass all the problems

you faced, whether it’s about life or sports.

Marie Claire Jullian Gunday started to play Arnis when she was in fifth grade, she began playing the

sticks until time passed that she knew the essence and the important thing hidden in that sticks.

She admit that it is not easy for her to balance the time for training and studying; although it’s hard still

manage to deal with it knowing that she has trust on herself.

My experience in Arnis is bittersweet, trainings might be hard and tiring but when I see my teammates happy and improving, the tiredness I feel faded especially when I see how our coach motivate us and provide us the things we need with all his might and that’s what makes me thankful for the

past three years.”

She’s proud showing me all the medals she’d got for the three years of playing, 4 golds, 6 silvers and 1 bronze; she also told me that her last game is definitely not the game she expected although she’s

happy reaching Provincial meet.

You are not competing with your opponent, but to yourself, though you’ve practice so hard, trained overtime, and when the main game comes and when you fell nervous, your strategies will be affected,

you lose your confidence until all turns out to be a waste.”

Beginnings are always hard so you must always give your 100% in ever game and always have the trust in yourself and with God, because nothing is impossible with Him.

UNDER PRESSURE

Let me begin to serious Realities. Most of the athletes can’t perform well in the first game , so basically the team cannot make their score same score of the opponent.

Some of the Player are being injured while in the middle of the game and sometime the person who will got the injured is the team leader so it will really create a pressure.

All of us want to win the fight so being pressured is natural for us. It is because of some reason or your is lack of cooperation because teamwork is very important .
